MAR VISTA / VENICE 

Mar Vista Rec Center - 11430 Woodbine Ave., Los Angeles, CA 90066

6 courts - recently resurfaced. It's a first come first serve so expect to wait if you go at peak times. The school across the street has permits most days from 2-5 and the City also runs classes in the AM and after school. Check schedules posted at the entrance to the courts so you can be strategic about which court you take so you don't get booted by a permitted coach.

Small parking lot on Sawtelle just south of the cross with Palms.

No pickleball.

Decent lights.

Penmar Rec Center -  1341 Lake St, Venice, CA 90291

6 courts - courts were resurfaced a few months ago so in decent shape. There's a sign up system during office hours which are 9am-9pm Monday-Saturday. Sign ups open up 15 minutes before the hour and you can reserve for the hour ahead. So, for example, if you want to play at 11am, the office will allow you to sign up from 10.45am and you'll get an hour guaranteed. Outside of office hours it's first come first serve. Peak times can be busy and people often start lining up 30 minutes before sign ups open.

Stoner Park - 1835 Stoner Ave., Los Angeles, CA 90025

Open play on 5 courts. You can also reserve a tennis court for up to one hour per day up to eight days in advance.

CHEVIOT HILLS 

Cheviot Hills Tennis Center - 601 Motor Ave #3411, Los Angeles, CA 90064

There are 15 courts with lights and you can book online to reserve a court, costs $8/hr before 4pm or $12 after 4pm or weekend. Here is a link to the reservation system, NB the courts do book up early at peak times and you can only reserve 8 days out:

Culver West - 4162 Wade Ave., Culver City 90066 

Just 1 court and there are some permits, otherwise first come first serve. There's also a wall to hit against.

Marine Park - 1406 Marine St, Santa Monica, CA 90405

3 courts. Can get very busy at peak times (morning and evening and weekends) but the courts are in great condition.  It's a first come first serve basis. Technically you have to give up the court after an hour if people are waiting. There are some permits granted to coaches so check the schedules posted at the door.
